Witnessing to Jesus

Jesus said, “Whoever is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of them when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels.” Luke 9:26

One of the first things Jesus taught me was “Love is a choice.” We can choose to honour Jesus by speaking confidently about Him and about His commandments or we can choose to treat Jesus and our faith like a “taboo” subject that requires that we speak in a quiet hush fearing someone may be offended. To me the latter would be offensive to God.

If we love Jesus then we will strive to fulfill our Baptismal promise to be His disciples. Remember Jesus instructed His apostles to go out and evangelize: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28: 19-20

“But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve … But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD.” Joshua 24:15

Jesus is Our Saviour! Let’s witness to His love by trying our best to be loving and forgiving, but let’s NEVER be ashamed of speaking about the instructions of Our Lord Jesus and the will of God. Let’s let Jesus be the head of our families and let’s feel privileged and honoured to speak about Our Lord for He is Our Saviour. Jesus suffered so much to save us and to prepare a place for us in Paradise. May the name of Jesus always be honoured! Let’s speak with zeal and courage about the instructions Jesus gave us. Remember “faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.” Romans 10:17

It’s our role as disciples of Jesus to try to live the message of Our Lord and help others to understand His commandments and instructions too. That requires conversations that are open and honest and candid, inspired and guided by the Holy Scriptures.

My Holy Lord I love You above all things and all people and I love You within all things and all people. Please give me the grace to do Your will and help me to fulfill the plan You have for me. You are my heart’s desire Jesus! I want to give You glory!
