Why the Gospel of Jesus Christ calls for a Peaceful Revolution

The word “revolutionary” comes from the Latin word “revolvere” which means to “revolve” or “turn around”.

Jesus came into the world to change it and to save it, to revolutionize the way we think and the way we act based on His TRUTH.

The TRUTH of Jesus Christ is His Gospel Message and it can be summarized in one simple word:  LOVE!

But that message of LOVE is not as simple as one may think and yet if we truly, truly LOVE God it will become possible through the grace of God.

“Jesus came to comfort the afflicted, but He also came to afflict the comfortable. Throughout history true followers of Christ have been revolutionaries.  As the trends of society have been dictated by the herd mentality, these men and women of God have stood up and said, “Hey, wait a minute.  That’s not right!”  They reached out their hands to people the rest of the world walked by without a glance, they spoke out when shutting up may have saved their lives, they distributed Bibles when others were passing out ammunition, they took God places others called “God-forsaken”, they picked up their crosses and followed Christ when others cried “Lord, Lord” but did nothing.  And for this they were called “Freaks”…Proverbs 1:32 tells us “the complacency of fools will destroy them.”  Are we too comfortable in our lifestyles to truly be following Christ?”  from the book Jesus Freaks II

There is a revolution in the Name of Jesus Christ that continues on earth through the passion and zeal of His disciples and it’s a peaceful revolution that embraces a message of LOVE that may indeed make you feel uncomfortable.

Jesus does not just teach us to love only those who love us…that would be easy.

“If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them.  And if you do good to those who are good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do that. And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full.”  Luke 6:32-33

Loving those that are kind to us is very natural, but Jesus wants much more than that.

Jesus says, “But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High, because he is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.”  Luke 6:35

So stop for a moment and think about this carefully.

When was the last time you were kind to someone who was cruel to you?

I remember years ago teaching a group of children about Jesus when one little girl of 8 years old told us about a problem she was having at school.  One of her little classmates was bullying her.  So she decided that she would invite her to her birthday party and can you guess what happened?  They became friends.

The revolutionary message of Jesus Christ is that love is stronger than hate; love conquers evil!

These are the teachings of Christ:

“Bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.”  Luke 6:28

What do we do in response to all the violence and wars in the world?

What does Jesus tell us to do?

Jesus tells this:  “But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you” Matthew 5:44

Remember, love your enemies does not mean ‘like’ your enemies.  We do not like murderers, rapists, drug traffickers, human traffickers, child abusers etc. but we must love them as Jesus teaches us by praying for their conversion and in this way love triumphs over evil, stopping violence and death as we call upon God’s divine intervention.

FRIENDS OF JESUS WE ARE GOD’S REVOLUTIONARIES.  We are God’s disciples and we must follow the teachings of Our Leader Jesus Christ.  So in the wake of wars and brutal killings that are happening all over the world WE MUST UNITE IN PRAYER!

We must have faith and realize that Jesus is calling us to proclaim His love, a love that will change the hearts and minds of the most radical and violent people.

Do you remember when Jesus said,

“Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”  John 3:3

Jesus was questioned about this:

“How can someone be born when they are old?” Nicodemus asked. “Surely they cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb to be born!”  John 3:4

Jesus answered, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit.”  John 3:5

This rebirth that Jesus is speaking about is a rebirth that comes through Baptism and through the power of the Holy Spirit of God.  Spiritual conversion cannot be forced upon someone, but we can pray for repentance and spiritual conversion and we MUST PRAY FOR REPENTANCE AND CONVERSION TO FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST.

I URGE YOU TO JOIN A Peaceful Revolution in the Name of Jesus Christ, for this is a revolution that will cause global transformation and rebirth by the power of God’s Holy Spirit.  This is a global Christian peace movement, the first of its kind where Christians of all denominations are invited to unite and pray at the foot of the Cross of Jesus to remember how much Jesus suffered to save us, daily, at 3pm (in our local time zones) because 3pm is the time Jesus died for us.

Jesus was brutally tortured and forced to lie down on an instrument of torture, a cross, to be nailed to it.  He died the most agonizing death so that we could be reborn in His love, a love that saves, a love that redeems, a love that gives hope and eternal life.

Remember if we only love those that love us, then we are not truly disciples of Jesus! Jesus died for the salvation of all.

Whenever I read about a ‘suicide bombing’ I feel my heart stopping.  How can it be that people are so deceived into thinking that a God of love wills for one person to take his or her own life so that others can be killed?  And yet, it happens.  And what do we do? …let ‘nothing’ NOT be our answer!

It’s time to prove that we are God’s revolutionaries and we will prove it as we pray for the salvation of our enemies:    “But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you” Matthew 5:44

Let us unite to pray for peace in our world and for the salvation of all souls.  I invite you to pray everyday at 3pm, in your local time zone, because 3 o’clock is the time Jesus died on the Cross to save us.  At this time we remember how much Our Holy Lord Jesus suffered to open the gates of heaven to us.  We meditate on His Passion and we pray for the liberty of all souls.  And if 3pm in your local time zone is not convenient pick another time zone that works for you and know that there will be people praying with you.

Every day women are raped, children are violently attacked, wars are being waged and innocent people are murdered in a battle between God and Satan.  We must fight this battle between “Good and Evil” with the spiritual weapons of faith, trust and prayer.  We must invoke the omnipotence of Our Saviour Jesus Christ to defend us and help us to spread the Gospel message of love and peace.  We must pray for souls most in need of God’s mercy.  We must repent of our sins and pray knowing that God will hear us.  “The LORD is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.” Proverbs 15:29

It’s time for every Christian to be a peaceful revolutionary!  We must stand for what’s right and believe in the infinite power of God to save.  We stand for God’s truth as revealed to us by Our Lord Jesus Christ and we must not give up on any soul, now or ever!

Let Jesus revolutionize your very existence.  Be born again through the power of the Holy Spirit.  Give Jesus your life, your trust and your hope.  Jesus will show you the way to heaven and give you a new heart full of faith, hope and love.

Jesus said,  “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6
