Why Peace Requires God’s Mercy
All over the world, people are suffering and dying in war zones without assistance, hungry, wounded, stripped of human dignity. If we truly felt that suffering, we would want to do something to help. If we heard the voices of the children asking for help, we would want to help. If we saw their little faces and touched their tears and felt their pain, we would want to provide comfort, protection and aid. Today is the day we must understand that we cannot remain idle in the face of such profound human suffering and continuous violence, we must unite to pray for God’s intervention to bring peace and we must do all that we can to alleviate suffering!
There is so much hatred in our world, divisions born of injustice and violence, violence that has motivated vengeance and more violence. The problem is this cycle keeps going on and on, with more and more conflict and war. It only ends when God’s Holy Spirit enters the soul to illuminate the conscience and stop the violence. War is hopeless, but peace gives birth to new life, new promise and new beginnings.
I invite you to join me and Christians all over the world that are uniting every day at The Time Jesus died for us, 3pm, to pray for peace, to pray for God’s Holy Spirit to silence the power of the evil one and to create faith and conversion, to help people who are suffering, who are in pain, who are wounded, who are desperate for aid. Have faith and believe that God will answer our prayers!
These are God’s instructions: “Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.” Psalm 34:14
It is God’s Holy Spirit that enables people to turn away from evil, to do good, to seek peace and pursue righteousness.
My heart breaks looking at the images of children and families caught in conflict zones. They are suffering unimaginably and we who have faith must pray for them! In some cases humanitarian aid is available to them, but in many war zones it is insufficient or unavailable. But you know who can change this situation? We can with God’s divine assistance!
Have great faith and pray for all people, especially for those who are suffering, especially for those possessed by evil for they are incapable of praying for themselves.
Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.” Mark 10:27
Let us pray:
“Holy God, we come to you today with broken and contrite hearts. We grieve our sins and we grieve the violence that continues to break the hearts and the lives of so many people who want to live in peace. Holy One send forth Your Spirit and change the world so lost in spiritual darkness. Help us all to realize that the pursuit of violence does not bring justice or peace. How many children have to cry, have to suffer, have to die before the world realizes that war destroys hope and never rights the wrongs of the past. Teach us to love, to forgive, to restore broken lives and to create faith and hope where there is desperation and pain. We trust in You Jesus! We believe in You. We adore You. We hope in You and we love You with all our hearts. Please help all who do not believe, do not adore, do not hope and do not love You. You are the hope of the world. Intervene Almighty God for Your love is everlasting, Your power is infinite and Your mercy is endless. In Your Holy Name Jesus we pray! Amen!”
