Standing at the Eternal Crossroad – Mercy or Justice? Which do you desire?

Imagine today that you are standing at a crossroad that leads to God’s throne of judgment; one road is marked with a sign called “divine justice”, while the other is marked with a sign called “divine mercy.” The path we choose will determine whether we will we receive God’s divine vengeance and wrath or His divine mercy and healing?

Remembering the Holocaust

I remember reading about a woman who survived the Holocaust. In her brave testimony she speaks of the job she was given as a prisoner of war. Her job was to prepare the children to enter the Nazi gas chambers. She explains how she had to undress the children and explain to them that they were going to take a shower. She also explains how she tried to make them smile and laugh. She didn’t want them to be afraid of entering into this chamber of death because she knew they would soon be in the arms of the Almighty God. What courage and strength God must have given her to enable her to be cheerful and strong, so that the children would not be afraid.

Remembering the Sacrifice of Our Lord Jesus – DO NOT BE AFRAID!

The path called “divine mercy” is a path that Our Lord created to heal us, to purify us from the stain of our sins and to prepare us to understand that our physical death is a gateway to eternal life. On the path called “divine mercy” we take the hand of Our Lord Jesus for He is The Divine Mercy.   He is the mediator who pays the price of the injustice of our sins and makes reparation to God – The Divine Justice.

God is Love and God is Mercy and God is Justice. God gives us free will and requires that we all be judged. How Our God suffers to see mankind choose to kill and to violate His commandments! The Lord allows man to choose between peace and war, reconciliation and vengeance, violence and nonviolence, respect and disrespect etc. We are given the choice to choose the path we will take in life, but we must know that we will not be able to choose to forego the judgment of God.

We will all be judged in accordance to our choices, but we can choose to take shelter in the merciful arms of Our Saviour Jesus Christ if we choose to go down the path called “Divine Mercy.” God’s love is greater than all our sins. The question for each soul is will the soul choose to receive God’s mercy or God’s punishment.

There are few things in life so straightforward and yet so inherently difficult.  A soul that does not repent and does not take refuge in the saving grace of Jesus Christ will have to face the vengeance and wrath of God. The Bible speaks of the sacrifice that God will not despise and it is “a broken and a contrite heart.” “My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.” Psalm 51:17 There is perhaps no greater punishment than realizing how much we have hurt God by our sins. There is no way to understand the gravity of sin except but to meditate on the Passion of Christ.

Can God forgive men and women who commit terrible acts of violence? Yes, God can and does forgive if that soul is truly sorry for what it has done.  But what happens if the sinful soul does not repent? Then the soul goes down the path of divine justice without the help of their Lord and Saviour acting as a mediator, paying the penalty for their sins.

As disciples of Jesus we all have a great responsibility to help Jesus save souls. First we must repent of our own sins and make our lives pleasing to God. Then we must help others repent and understand the seriousness of every choice we make. All choices will have to be accounted for in the end. So we must take accountability for our poor choices and repent. No choice, however small or insignificant we may think it to be, can be hidden from the scrutiny of God.

Our Lord Jesus is the Son of God who came into the world to make reparation to divine justice. Only God Himself could make sinful man acceptable again to God. Only the living God, the incarnate Word of God, Jesus Christ, who came into the world to pay the price of our sins could purify us and make us pleasing again to God.

“For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all people.” 1 Timothy 2:5

“But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions–it is by grace you have been saved.” Ephesians 2: 4-5

“For we know the One who has said, Vengeance belongs to Me, I will repay, and again, The Lord will judge His people.”  Hebrews 10:30

Today, stand naked before God and decide what will you choose “divine justice” or “divine mercy”? If you choose “divine justice” then you have chosen to reject the ransom that Jesus Christ has paid for you!  Do you really want to stand naked before God without your Saviour Jesus Christ shielding you from the wrath of God?

The poor woman who had to undress the little children and escort them into the Nazi gas chambers knew that the innocent little children were minutes from paradise and with a heart of faith and with the courage that only the Holy Spirit gives she smiled at them with eyes full of hope and trust in the mercy of God.

Death does not have the final word! Jesus Christ claimed victory over death by paying the price of our sins on the Cross and then Resurrecting to life on the third day. Eternal life awaits all who desire it and will repent of their sins, believing in the saving power of Our Holy Lord’s sacrifice! But what happens to those who do not want to believe in the saving grace of Jesus Christ? They must face God’s judgment alone!

PLEASE PRAY FOR THE SALVATION OF ALL SOULS – EVERY DAY!

Let us pray each and every day for the mercy of Our Lord Jesus upon all souls. To be Christian is to live to fulfill God’s plan of salvation. God wants to save every soul, irrespective of their sins. God’s love is greater than all our sins!

REMEMBER YOUR SAVIOUR, JESUS CHRIST, DYING FOR YOU EACH DAY AT 3PM!

Don’t let a day go by without remembering the Passion of Jesus Christ. “You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.” Romans 5:6

Jesus died for you at 3pm, to give you the gift of eternal life, protecting you from God’s wrath and vengeance. Give Jesus your heart and your life, now and forever, and every day when the clock strikes 3pm, see your Saviour dying for you and pray for His mercy upon you and all. How much Jesus loves us that He would die to pay the price of divine justice and give us the gift of eternal joy, eternal peace, eternal life with Him!
