Living in a Spirit of Thanksgiving

The Virgin Mary is chosen by God to be the Mother of God’s Son, Our Lord and Saviour. She sings a song of praise to God giving thanks and honour to the Almighty God.

And Mary said,

“My soul magnifies the Lord,
and my spirit rejoices in God my Saviour,
for he has looked on the humble estate of his servant.
  For behold, from now on all generations will call me blessed;
for he who is mighty has done great things for me,
and holy is his name.” Luke 1:46-49

Let us rejoice in Jesus Christ, Our Lord, Our God, Our Saviour who came down from Heaven to save all mankind!

How often do you say thank you to Jesus for dying to pay the price of your sins?

I have a Gift for You!

Today I want to give you a gift that will bring countless blessings to you, but this gift requires that you choose to do something.

Are you willing to receive this gift of immense blessing?

God has given me a great gift that I want to share with you. God has done great things for me and the gift that God has given me reminds me on a daily basis how holy and great Our Lord is.

The gift I want to share with you is a sacred time. It’s a holy experience that will change you and give your life new meaning.

Are you interested in having your life further enriched by God’s grace?

If your answer is yes then I want you to take out your daily calendar and go to the time 3pm. This time will now belong to you and Jesus!

Three o’clock is not ordinary time; it’s a very important time of the day. It’s important because it is the time Our Lord Jesus died on the Cross for us!

Now if you want to take advantage of this gift of immense blessing then you need to stop every day at 3pm to remember your Saviour Jesus Christ dying on the Cross for you. Let this moment be defined not by the amount of time that you stop but by the intimacy that you choose to share with Jesus at this time. If you have time walk the Way to Calvary and meditate deeply on the Passion of Christ. If you are pressed for time then let this moment be a moment where the world stops as you remember how much Jesus suffered to prepare a place for you in Paradise and for that give thanks, pray for yourself and for all souls that all may be saved by the infinite love of Our Saviour Jesus Christ.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 How can we not give thanks to God for His gift of salvation each day? How can we let the time Jesus died for us go by without a moment of prayer and thanksgiving?

At 3pm, also known as the Hour of Mercy, I meditate daily on the Passion of Christ and this daily remembrance of the great suffering of Our Lord reminds me of the immensity and intensity of God’s love. My problems seem to disappear as I look into the eternal horizon where I know God has prepared a place of peace and ecstasy for all who will repent and receive His gift of salvation.

My relationship and communion with Jesus grows daily as I walk the Way to Calvary and meditate on the Passion of Christ.   It is on this walk that I ask Jesus for the grace to carry my Cross with greater humility and courage. It is on this walk that I realize how beautiful Our God is as I look into His eyes full of tears and determination as He carries His Cross to the place of His crucifixion.   It’s on this walk that I recognize my great responsibility to pray for all souls and to trust in Our Lord Jesus asking Him for the grace to follow the inspiration of His Spirit and do His Holy Will.

Give thanks each day at the Hour of Mercy for God’s great gift of salvation. Think about how much this gift cost Jesus!   Think about how much you are loved! Ask for His grace to help you to give Him great glory.

Jesus asked via St. Faustina that we remember Him at the time He died for us, 3pm. It is such a little request and the blessings that flow from this devotion will change your life as Jesus changes your heart and your mind. It is impossible to meditate on the Passion of Christ and not be humbled by the greatness of God’s love and by the horrible injustice of our sins.

If you persevere in doing what Jesus is asking you to do, you will receive His amazing grace. Allow Jesus to draw you close to His Sacred Heart as you remember Him dying on the Cross for you and me and all souls, each day at 3pm.

Jesus said, “At three o’clock, implore My mercy, especially for sinners; and, if only for a brief moment, immerse yourself in My Passion, particularly in My abandonment at the moment of agony. This is the hour of great mercy for the whole world. I will allow you to enter into My mortal sorrow. In this hour, I will refuse nothing to the soul that makes a request of Me in virtue of My Passion…immerse yourself in prayer there where you happen to be, if only for a very brief instant.”  (Words of Jesus, Diary of St. Faustina 1320, 157)

Jesus said, “I desire that you know more profoundly the love that burns in My Heart for souls and you will understand this when you meditate upon My Passion. Call upon My mercy on behalf of sinners; I desire their salvation…There are few souls who contemplate My Passion with true feeling; I give great graces to souls who meditate devoutly on My Passion.” (Words of Jesus to St. Faustina, Diary of St. Faustina 186, 737)

Holy Lord I thank you for all our blessings for I recognize that all good things come from you. I thank you especially for the gift of faith and for our intimacy and communion. Please let my life give you glory and allow me to live ever more deeply in a Spirit of Thanksgiving where I never forget how much You suffered to save us. I love You Jesus! You are my heart’s desire!
