Jesus Christ The King and the Kingdom of God

“Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises. For God is the King of all the earth; sing to him a psalm of praise. God reigns over the nations; God is seated on his holy throne.” Psalm 47: 6-9

God sent His only Son Jesus to save us from our sins. The prophet Isaiah prophesied about Him:

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” Isaiah 9:6

St. Paul helped us to understand the great humility of Our Lord Jesus, God incarnate.

“Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, although He existed in the form of God, did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore also God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those who are in heaven, and on earth, and under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2:5-11

Our Holy Lord Jesus, did not wear the crown of jewels we would expect a King to wear, instead He wore a crown of thorns, each thorn representative of the sins of His people, the sins He would die to atone for.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3: 16-17

Our King, Jesus Christ, true God and true Man, died to set us free from sin.

If we truly belong to Jesus then we must understand that Our Holy King has high expectations of us. He invites us into His holy presence so that He can fill us with His grace, the blessing and privilege that only God can bestow upon us. Jesus calls us to build the Kingdom of God on earth understanding that the day will come when He will return and reign on earth as the King of this world, but in the meantime we must allow Jesus to reign in our hearts, governing our lives and our actions. We must allow the promise of the New Covenant with God to be fulfilled NOW!

Recall the promise of God:

“The days are coming,” declares the LORD, “when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah. It will not be like the covenant I made with their ancestors when I took them by the hand to lead them out of Egypt, because they broke my covenant, though I was a husband to them,” declares the LORD. “This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel after that time,” declares the LORD. “I will put my law in their minds and write it on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.” Jeremiah 31: 30-33

God did not want our relationship with Him to be about rules and regulations, Jesus wanted a Bride that would desire Him, that would love Him and be faithful to Him out of holy desire and eternal love.

To prove His love to His bride, God’s Son died for her to pay the penalty of her sins. Jesus died for His bride so that she could become holy, just as He is holy! Jesus wanted His love to be written upon His bride’s heart and to be always on her mind. Jesus Christ, the King, invites His bride, His people to come into His royal court, His holy presence, to rejoice in His infinite love and give Him the praise and honour and reverence He so desires and so deserves.

The New Covenant is a marriage contract of sorts between Jesus Christ, the King and His royal bride, His people. Jesus Christ, the King, writes His love upon the heart of His bride as she walks with Him to Calvary. His bride weeps as she sees her Saviour Christ the King being brutally tortured to open the gates of paradise to her. She sees her Bridegroom Jesus scourged for her sins. She sees Him mocked and spit upon. She hears the crowds calling for His crucifixion and she looks into His holy eyes to see a love so steadfast, so determined, so beyond anything she could ever imagine that His love becomes written upon her heart and upon her mind: “I will be yours forever Lord Jesus!”

On the Way to Calvary, the bride of Christ sees Him stripped of His clothing and forced to lie down on an instrument of torture, a Cross. She hears Him cry out with mercy as He is nailed to the Cross that would become for us the sign of our salvation. Jesus cries out: “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” Luke 23:34

The bride of Christ, the King, stands at the foot of the Cross of Jesus as His tender, infinite love is poured out. She prays that God, the Father receives His Son into His eternal abode, promising God that His Sacrifice will never be forgotten; it will be forever on her mind.

The bride of Christ stands at the foot of the Cross knowing that this holy sacrifice is the fulfillment of the New Covenant, a marriage contract signed in His Sacred Blood. She will now belong to Him forever and although unworthy of His grace, she will draw her strength from Him knowing that although He will not be with her in bodily form, He will be with her in Spirit and through the grace of His Sacraments.

Christ, the King renews His love for His bride, His people by continuously supplying His grace through the provision of His Holy Spirit and His Sacraments.

The bride of Christ The King, is invited into His private chambers to talk intimately with her King about His plan to restore the Kingdom of God. He invites His bride to be purified by His grace as He listens with compassion to her confession that she has sinned and He forgives her. He then invites His bride to a divine banquet where she will receive spiritual nourishment and the strength to fight for the salvation of souls. Christ The King gives His bride His Sacred Body and Blood through the Sacrament of the Eucharist and calls her to be a source of grace in the world.

Jesus has given us everything! Yet look at what’s happening! We live in a world where violence, war, vengeance, selfishness and crimes of every sort are commonplace. Why?

Answer: Because the King, Jesus Christ, has had to close the door to His heart to people who refuse His grace, who refuse to believe, who want His blessing but are not willing to share that blessing with others.

The world in its current state is like a Kingdom broken by sin and division. Jesus is waiting for His people to return to Him. True believers, the bride of Christ, are fighting the good fight by praying for the restoration of the Kingdom of God, by evangelizing and sharing the Truth that Jesus is Our Saviour who is waiting for His people, His royal subjects, to return to Him for the grace of His forgiveness.

The Kingdom of God is a Kingdom of Peace that requires that the royal subjects of God, His chosen people, help souls wounded by grave sin to be redeemed.

Every day I listen to news of more terror, accounts of people who have fallen out of the grace of God by committing terrible acts of violence.   Some of these people are killing their unborn children, some are abusing their little children, some are trafficking people and drugs, some are laundering money, some are stealing, some are raping, some are murdering, some are terrorizing through horrific acts of violence, many are waging war, killing innocent people.

What does Jesus Christ King have to say to His subjects in the wake of all of this violence and destruction?

READ CAREFULLY…

“You are my witnesses,” declares the LORD, “and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me. I, even I, am the LORD, and apart from me there is no savior. I have revealed and saved and proclaimed– I, and not some foreign god among you. You are my witnesses,” declares the LORD, “that I am God.” Isaiah 43: 10 -12

People of God, we are witnesses of Jesus Christ, Our Holy God, Our Lord and Saviour. We must continue to fight for the salvation of all people. We must keep praying that all people will come back to God and find favour by repenting of their sins and being baptized into the grace of Jesus Christ The King.

We must believe in the power of our prayers, for by praying and living lives of righteousness we can share the grace Our Lord Jesus gives us with others. This sharing of grace is the equivalent to being a soldier that can pick up the wounded on the battlefield and bring them to a place where they can be healed by God’s grace and power. It is the equivalent of being able to defuse deadly bombs before they detonate. It is the equivalent of being able to convince people to put down their weapons and commit to peace not war. It is the ultimate NONVIOLENT PREMPTIVE STRIKE –We strike with God’s grace, with His Holy Spirit and Omnipotent power.

“Through him we received grace and apostleship to call all the Gentiles to the obedience that comes from faith for his name’s sake. And you also are among those Gentiles who are called to belong to Jesus Christ.” Romans 1:4-5

So if we are truly followers of Christ, if we belong to Him then we will come into the courts of Our Lord and King Christ Jesus and we will repent and seek absolution for our sins. We will seek guidance for our lives. We will seek nourishment for our souls and we will commit to the plans He has for us. We will be living for one thing and one thing only – the glory of Jesus Christ the King!

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.” 1 Peter 2:9-10

Please commit to A Peaceful Revolution in the Name of Jesus Christ, a Christian peace movement that is calling the Bride of Christ to remember the infinite Sacrifice of Our Lord Jesus every day at the time He died for her, 3pm (in our local time zones). At this time let the promise of the New Covenant, signed in the Sacred Blood of Jesus, be fulfilled.  Let the love of Jesus transform your heart and your life.  Let the love of Jesus renew you and sanctify you. Fulfill the plans God has for you by praying for the salvation of all souls. Pray for the mercy of God upon all souls and in this way commit to restoring the Kingdom of God on earth as the love of God is written upon the hearts and minds of His people.

May the peace of Our Lord Jesus be with you always! May it revolutionize your lives as you commit to peace, reconciliation and love!  Use the most powerful weapon we have to restore the Kingdom of God – PRAYER and FAITH IN THE POWER OF GOD TO SAVE THROUGH THE GRACE OF JESUS CHRIST!
