Global Change – Starts with YOU!

As I watch the international news reports, I feel my responsibility as a Christian growing daily. How can it be that as a global community we cannot find ways to live in peace? Will killing one another truly destroy the divisions between peoples?  I see mothers and fathers crying over the loss of their children and my heart breaks.   The EU is threatening to close their borders to refugees?  Where will these people go? How Our Lord must suffer to see the violence, corruption, wars, persecution, death and destruction all over the world!

What will you do to effect global change?

Realize today that you are POWERFUL because you are a disciple of Jesus. You can, through the grace of God, effect change if you choose to step up to your Christian responsibility to PRAY! We must call upon Jesus to help all those who suffer and who are desperate for His merciful assistance.

“That is why we labor and strive, because we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all people, and especially of those who believe.” 1 Timothy 4:10

For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech. They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it.” 1 Peter 3:10-11

If you are reading this post you are likely not in a war zone, but with your mind I want you to enter the war zone right now. Can you see the people? The people are afraid. They are running. Many have been wounded. Some have been killed. Children are crying. Emergency services and humanitarian organizations are struggling to keep up. What’s needed? GOD’S MERCY!

Now you may be wondering “Why does God allow this?” I have even heard people ask, “Why does a God of love not stop this?” My answer to this question is very important.

God gives us all free will and we will be judged by our choices!

Violence and suffering were not created by God and they are not His will, they were born from sin and we must remember that we will all one day be judged for our actions, what we choose to do and what we choose not to do.

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.” 2 Corinthinians 5:10

There is a force of darkness in the world that is motivating people to commit all sorts of evil—murder, rape, prostitution, drug trafficking, theft, pornography, money laundering, abortion, financial corruption, they are all born of the devil. God wants us to live in peace but Satan wants war and division!

To people involved in all forms of evil, this is God’s message: “You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” John 8:44

Now I want you to consider what if someone you love has fallen into a life of crime. What will you do?

YOU MUST PRAY TO THE ONE WHO CAN SAVE THEM – JESUS CHRIST!

Enter the spiritual war zone and understand. Souls have fallen and if we are truly disciples of Jesus Christ we will not give up on them. We will pick them up and bring them to God. We will not give up on the criminal because we remember Jesus died on the Cross for all sinners. Jesus is waiting for His people to “fight the good fight”. If you were most in need of God’s mercy, would you not want someone to help you?

Our marching orders as disciples of Jesus are simple.

  • We must REPENT of our sins. “If we confess our sins, He (Jesus) is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9
  • We must PRAY for God’s mercy upon us and upon all, especially those most in need of His love and forgiveness. “Pray constantly.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17
  • We must turn away from anything that is displeasing to God and live to give Jesus glory and honour, each and every day. We stay close to God and trust in Jesus and serve Him and one another. “Prove by the way you live that you have repented of your sins and turned to God.” Matthew 3:8
  • Let us receive the Eucharist remembering the words of Jesus. Jesus said, “I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Whoever eats this bread will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”   John 6:51

WHAT WILL CHRISTIANS DO TO CHANGE THE WORLD?

ANSWER:  WE WILL PRAY FOR THE MERCY OF OUR LORD JESUS UPON ALL SOULS!  WE WILL PROCLAIM THE TRUTH OF THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST!

We must bring more people to understand and embrace the message of Jesus Christ.

“Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.” Romans 10:17

IT’S URGENT THAT CHRISTIANS UNITE AND HELP ALL PEOPLE TO TRUST IN THE SALVATION THAT COMES ONLY THROUGH JESUS CHRIST!

“Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Philippians 2: 9-11
