Have you ever been in love?

Remember?…You can’t stop thinking about the person you’re in love with.  You want them to love you back.  You want them to spend time with you.  You are willing to sacrifice for them.  You want to be the best you can be for them.  You want to make them happy.  The thought of being unfaithful does not enter your mind.  You only see them.  They live in your heart and if something were to happen to them your heart would be forever broken.  The one you love fulfills the desires of your heart.  They inspire you and help you to become a better person.

I fell in love with Jesus over the course of a decade.  The journey began with Him teaching me that “Love is a choice”.  He began to teach me about His love and I felt Him embrace me and ask me to honour Him.  Honouring Him would involve me becoming spiritually aware.  I had to stop making decisions based on how I felt.  I needed to consider God’s will.  I realized He wanted me to know how much He suffered to save me.  He took me on a journey to the place He was crucified.  This was the most difficult journey I ever took.  I would need to see Jesus suffering and I was afraid, but ultimately inspite of my fear of coming face-to-face with my own sins I entered the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus was suffering so much, drenched in sweat and blood as He contemplated His sorrowful Passion.

Jesus is calling you to take this journey with Him…

It’s the journey to Calvary that culminates at the foot of the Cross.  On this difficult journey you will see the Holy One who loves you the most.  He wants you to love Him back.  He’s willing to sacrifice for you.  He wants to make You happy and He will show You how much He loves you.  He is faithful unto death.  You are in His heart and should He lose You His heart will break.  You are a part of Him and He will complete you.  He will open your heart and He will open your mind as He teaches about love.  He will fulfill You!

See your Saviour lying down on the Cross being crucified for you and if something tempts you in life…FLASHBACK!!!…see Him again hanging on this instrument of torture and fall in love with the only One that can teach you about love.  For He is love! True love flows out of Him, for He lives in all that love.

“Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.”  1 John 4:8

Temptation dissolved in my life when I commenced doing this.  I take this walk to Calvary everyday at 3 pm, the time Jesus died for us.  I believe that it is only in persevering that we truly discover who Jesus wants us to be.  And at the foot of the Cross I realized who I wanted to be…I want to be His Bride.  I want to be His disciple.  I want to be His instrument of peace.  I want to be all that He wants me to be and I want Him to stop suffering and rejoice in me.

Stand at the foot of the Cross every day in memory of the Holy One who loves you in ways that you cannot imagine.  “Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13

Jesus only You can fulfill the desires of my heart.  You are my heart’s desire!  Thank You Holy One for saving me!
