Experiencing Unstoppable Love

The love of Jesus Christ is unstoppable! Experiencing His divine unstoppable love is the ultimate fulfillment of the soul. It is the journey of entering into the essence of the Divine and experiencing God’s infinite love.

“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.” 1 John 4:16

As sensual beings we want to ‘feel love’ but entering into the unstoppable love of God does not begin with a ‘feeling’ but rather with a ‘commitment’ to get to know God.

“Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.” Romans 10:17

If you do not have faith, then perhaps it is because you have not heard the Message of Jesus Christ as spoken in the Word of God.

Experiencing the unstoppable love of God requires opening our hearts to the power of God’s Holy Spirit to build us up into people of God.

“But you, dear friends, by building yourselves up in your most holy faith and praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.” Jude 1:20-21

To experience the unstoppable love of God we must be ‘born again’.

“Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.” John 3:3

“Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit.” John 3:6

God’s unstoppable love is the Holy Spirit living in our hearts, helping us to be born again as ‘spiritual beings’ that desire and understand the things of God.

To begin this process of transformation we need to create room for the Spirit of God to work by acknowledging our sins and asking for God’s pardon and help.

“My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart you, God, will not despise.” Psalm 51:17

If we offend God and are not sorry for offending Him there is no room for spiritual transformation. The soul’s lack of contrition closes the door to God’s Holy Spirit and to His divine forgiveness.

God never rejects a heart that desires His forgiveness. God’s forgiveness is the beginning of experiencing His unstoppable love. Jesus saves us from our sins if we want to be saved.

“Come now, let us settle the matter,” says the LORD. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.” Isaiah 1:18

There is only one thing stopping God from changing our lives and that one thing is us!

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:19

Forgiveness and purification of our lives are two important experiences of God’s unstoppable love.

Forgiveness is the gift purchased for us by the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Jesus gave His life to save us.

“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

Purification of our lives is a life long process enabled by the Spirit of God that detaches us from the things (sins) that offend God. Purification requires ‘spiritual discernment’ which allows us to see our lives the way God sees our lives.

Let us pray for the Holy Spirit of God, God’s unstoppable love, to illumine our minds to know what He wills for us to do.

I encourage you to take some time to reflect on three key questions that will help you discern some of what you need to do to give God glory. The three questions are:

  1. What’s working in your life that is pleasing God and giving Him glory?
  2. What’s not working in your life that is offending God?
  3. What’s missing in your life that is preventing you from pleasing God more?

As you reflect consider the following:

  • Have you repented of your sins
  • How active is your prayer life (i.e., do you only pray when you are in trouble or are you actively listening to God speak to your heart)
  • Do you thank God daily for His blessings
  • Do you go to Church to worship God and receive His Sacrament of Love
  • Are there things in your life (i.e., sins) that you know you need to eliminate (pornography, drugs, sex outside of marriage, drunkenness, gossip, slander, hatred, discrimination, corruption, greed etc.)
  • Are you generous in giving to others by offering your time and money to needy causes.  Does your charity begin at home
  • Do you witness to God by your words and example of love
  • Do you need to forgive others who have hurt you
  • Do you pray for your enemies
  • Do you read the Word of God to hear God speaking to your heart
  • Do you see God in the people around you
  • Do you frequently meditate on the Passion of Christ in gratitude for the sacrifice of Jesus

God’s unstoppable love for you will never stop building you up so long as you are open to it. Life can be difficult. All of us carry burdens that can make us feel alone and even desperate at times. In those moments remember the Words of Our Lord Jesus:

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.” Matthew 11: 28-30

Jesus uses an analogy in this Scripture to communicate an important spiritual truth which is this:

YOU BELONG TO JESUS!

The yoke is a harness that is put on an animal by its owner.  The ‘yoke’ connects two animals so they can share the burden of work.   In our sensual/carnal nature we are like animals responding to what feels good, but in our spiritual nature we are reborn into people who are striving to do God’s Holy will by pursuing that which is righteous in God’s eyes.  The ‘yoke’ is God’s love that unites our hearts with His.  His ‘yoke is easy and the burden is light’ because God makes loving easy through the infinite power of His Holy Spirit. The burden of sin is enormous but the forgiveness and purification of God frees the soul of the burden of sin and fills it with divine light.

Let us find rest in God’s unstoppable love for there are no limits to what is possible for God.

To be born again we need to have faith in God’s infinite, eternal love.

An Invitation to All Followers of Jesus – Be a Peace Maker By Joining A Peaceful Revolution in the Name of Jesus Christ.

This is a peace movement inviting Christians all over the work to stop and pray daily at the Time Jesus died for us, 3pm (in our local time zones) to remember the unstoppable love of Our Lord Jesus Christ. This daily solemn moment of remembrance of the Passion of Christ and prayer for the Holy Spirit to change our world is a little way of saying Thank You Jesus for dying for me! The love of Jesus Christ is unstoppable! He died on the Cross and rose again because His Love CANNOT AND WILL NOT EVER BE STOPPED!  That is a certainty!  What is not certain is will we believe as One Body of Christ in the power of God’s love to change our world.  Will we believe in the power of prayer to bring us the graces we need to silence the power of evil in our world, stopping violence, war and all forms of injustice and crime?

Never lose sight of the eternal promise of Jesus. Jesus has prepared a place for you and me in Paradise, so rejoice in the unstoppable love of Jesus Christ Our Saviour who went to Cross hoping for your love!

“My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.” John 14:2-3

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13

The love of Jesus Christ is UNSTOPPABLE never stop believing or trusting in Our Lord to do the impossible, for with God all things are possible!
