Why Prepare for Heaven
God’s master plan is to bring all His children to Heaven. This master plan requires our understanding, our persistent cooperation and our intense focus.
So even if you don’t believe in God, consider that you have nothing to lose and paradise to gain by understanding God’s master plan and preparing for heaven.
Let’s start with a reflection on God’s plan of creation.
“God created everything through him, and nothing was created except through him.” John 1:3
God initiated a plan of creation for His glory and He chose special people (prophets) to be His guides and messengers, showing people the Way to God. The ultimate messenger was God Himself in the person of Jesus Christ.
The message of Jesus is simple and can be summarized in one word “Love”.
Jesus said, “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” John 13:34
Jesus made his commandment to love simple with these instructions: “Do to others as you would have them do to you.” Luke 6:31
So if we want people to be generous, merciful and kind to us we should do the same.
“Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.” 1 Corinthians 13: 4-7
God is love and love is the path to heaven, a place where eternal rest, eternal joy and eternal peace is offered to every soul that comes to God with a heart that is sorry for having sinned and is desirous of God’s forgiveness.
No one on their death bed would say I don’t want eternal peace and joy, but the time to prepare for heaven is not when we get sick. The time to prepare for heaven is now!
Jesus says this about heaven: “…“What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” — the things God has prepared for those who love him—”
Heaven is beyond our ability to contemplate! Imagine that!
If you are already a person of faith and are striving to please God then I urge you to do one more thing: Please pray for those who do not have faith and are not living in accordance to God’s will and do this everyday!
With faith comes responsibility. God is calling His followers to witness to His love and pray for all souls so that all souls may be saved and one day know the peace and joy of heaven.
To begin our journey towards heaven we must repent of our sins and ask God for forgiveness.
Jesus did not die on the Cross so that souls perish and go to hell!
Jesus died to save us all!
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9
“Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2:38
It is God’s plan to one day “swallow up death forever. The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears from all faces; he will remove his people’s disgrace from all the earth. The LORD has spoken.” Isaiah 25:8
“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” Revelation 21:4
When we sin, we disgrace ourselves but God is a merciful God who wants to restore His children as He cleanses us from sin.
“Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool.” Isaiah 1:18
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3: 16-17
Jesus is God Incarnate. He is our all-powerful Saviour. He wants to help us in our journey towards heaven where we will live eternally in joy, in peace and in love with God and one another.
If we truly knew how much Jesus loves us, we would never sin again! If we could truly see Him being crucified to save us and we understood that His love for us was truly an infinite personal love, we would never stop loving Him and striving to please Him.
This life is intended to be a journey to heaven and it is too important for people to not understand. We are called to repent of our sins and we are called to love as God loved.
“Keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life.” Jude 1:21
Please join the global prayer movement called The Mercy Movement that is praying for Jesus to intervene in our world, to stop evil, to stop violence and to save us from our sins. We unite daily at 3pm, the Time Jesus died for us (choose the time zone that is most convenient for you to pray). At this time we thank Jesus for dying for us and we pray for Jesus to send His Holy Spirit upon all souls. Let us believe in the transformative power of our prayer to God, for God will answer us! Let us pray for healing (spiritual and physical) and for new beginnings to please God. For God all things are possible. No prayer is too big. God’s love for us is everlasting. “Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.” Psalm 136:1
