If you knew nothing about God, how do you think you would you have imagined Him?

Would you have imagined Him as a King who rules over His people with authority and power and justice?

Would you have imagined Him to be merciful and kind?

Would you have imagined a God who would be so humble that He would serves us, His creatures, and pay the price of our sins?

I would never have imagined a God so approachable, so humble, so perfect, so merciful and kind.

I would never have imagined that I could speak to Him and that He would answer me so personally and intimately.

I would never have imagined that He would be so gentle and patient, waiting for His people to love Him.

You could have demanded our love Jesus, but instead You inspire it!  You could have punished us for our sins, but instead You forgive us!  You could have just given us the commandments and told us to obey You. You didn’t have to come down from heaven to be our teacher and Master.  You didn’t have to become our Saviour that serves and suffers and waits so patiently for the honour You so deserve.

One day I asked Jesus this question:  “Why did You have to die such a horrible death by crucifixion?  Why didn’t You redeem mankind in some other way?”

And this is what Jesus said to my heart:  “How else would you have known how much I love you!”  

I leave it to you to think about His answer, because if you meditate on His answer it will change you!

Your love Lord makes me want to be perfect!  Let my life proclaim how much I love YOU!
