If I had never heard about Jesus, I would never have imagined a God so awesome!

I would have imagined God as a King who rules over His people with authority and power and justice, punishing us for our sins.  But I would have never imagined a God who humbles Himself to serve His people.

I would never have imagined a God who  pays the price of our sins by dying a brutal death by crucifixion so we can be spared punishment.

I would never have imagined a God so approachable, so humble, so perfect, so merciful and kind.

I would never have imagined that I could speak to Him and He would answer me so personally and intimately.

I would never have imagined that He would be so gentle and patient, waiting for His people to love Him.

You could have demanded our love Jesus, but instead You inspire it.

You could have punished us for our sins, but instead You forgive us.

You could have just given us the commandments and told us to obey You.  You didn’t have to come down from heaven to become our example.  You didn’t have to become our teacher and Saviour that serves and suffers and waits so patiently for the honour You so deserve.

Everything about You inspires me, teaches me, encourages me.  I don’t know how to tell You how much I love You, but I know You know.  Please let my life testify to Your love!  Let me be Your witness.  Let me be Your bride!  For You, Holy One, are the Bridegroom of my soul and my soul longs for You day and night!
