To me…Life is a journey with God, each day an opportunity to show Jesus how much we love Him.  Some days we succeed and some days we fail.  When we fail, we must confess our sins and ask for God’s forgiveness.

Life is a test of honor and faith, for which God will judge us. The forces of evil will strive to seduce us with “empty pleasures” but God’s love and the power of His Holy Spirit will move us to desire that which is holy in His eyes.

Life is a sacred gift from God that we must treasure and appreciate: accepting the joy with thanksgiving and the pain with courage, striving to use our talents to give glory to God.

This life is not final, but rather a gateway to eternity with the Holy One who made us.

In the end we distinguish ourselves not by the wealth or the power we accumulate, but by the love and mercy we have shown one another, especially in times of struggle.

In the Bible, God tells us,

“Whoever of you loves life
and desires to see many good days,

keep your tongue from evil
and your lips from speaking lies.

Turn from evil and do good;
seek peace and pursue it.

The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their cry;

the face of the LORD is against those who do evil,
to cut off the memory of them from the earth.

The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them;
he delivers them from all their troubles.

The LORD is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

Psalm 34: 12-18
