Rejoice in the Eternal Future
For those that are patiently suffering enduring the challenges of today and carrying their cross bravely, take a moment to consider the great joy that awaits you! Look into the eternal horizon and reflect on this:
“What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” — the things God has prepared for those who love him— these are the things God has revealed to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.” 1 Corinthians 2: 9-10
St. John the Evangelist describes the eternal future in the Book of Revelation:
“And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Look! God’s dwelling place is now among the people, and he will dwell with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God. He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death’ or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.” Revelation 21: 3-4
So many people are suffering today. My heart is with them. Let us pray for all that are in need of comfort and consolation. Our Lord Jesus calls out to all who are suffering: “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:18 “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3
Your challenges may seem too great for you to endure. Give them to God and believe that Jesus Christ, Our Saviour will help you. I remember many years ago my father-in-law was diagnosed with a terrible cancer. The doctors gave him less than a 30% chance he would live one year. We prayed that Our Holy Lord would help him and if possible that He would not take him from us just yet. Jesus gave him fifteen more years to be with us, defying all of the medical prognoses! And now he is in heaven rejoicing with God. Even when the end of our days on earth comes, the eternal future is bright. Let’s never lose sight of the gift God promises us—eternal life with HIM!
Hope in Jesus because He will fulfill His promise of eternal life!
“Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world? Only the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.” 1 John 5: 1-5
“I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.” 1 John 5:13-14
Pray with confidence to God for He never abandons His people. He will help you through every challenge. Do not be afraid! You are not alone! Jesus is with you! God bless you!
