Dear followers of Jesus, I invite you to pray with me for peace in the world.  I am so grieved to hear of the ongoing violence and wars in different parts of the world, especially in the Middle East.   If only we could all believe that brother killing brother is not God’s will!  If only we could all understand that God wants us to respect and love one another, finding ways to live in peace, reconciling our differences so we can co-exist and prosper together.

This is the truth of Jesus Christ:  God wants us to love everyone, even our enemies.

Jesus said, “But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in heaven…” Matthew 5: 44-45

“Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.” 1 John 4:20

This is the truth of Jesus Christ:  God wants us to pursue peace not war!

“Turn away from evil and do good. Search for peace, and work to maintain it.” 1 Peter 3:11

“You must not murder.”  Exodus 20:13

This is the truth of Jesus Christ:  “God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.”  1 John 4:16

“Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.  Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.” 1 John 4:7-9

This is the truth of Jesus Christ:  Jesus is the Son of God, the true living God, who saves all who will repent and turn away from evil.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”  John 3:17-18

“If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God.” 1 John 4:15

“And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us.” 1 John 3:23

This is the truth of Jesus Christ:  We will all be judged for our actions.

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each of us may receive what is due us for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad.” 2 Corinthians 5:10

Let us pray…

Lord Jesus send forth Your Holy Spirit upon all souls, especially those committing terrible acts of violence.  Please bring all souls to repentance.  Have mercy on this broken world Lord, divided by different religious ideologies.   Help all souls to understand Your truth that we live in peace as brothers and sisters.  May Your message of love and mercy Jesus be embraced by all.  Save all souls Lord, especially those most in need of Your mercy!  We believe in You Jesus!  We adore You!  We hope in You Lord and we love You so much!  We beg Your forgiveness for those that do not believe in You, do not adore You, do not hope in You and do not love You. We trust in You and pray in Your holy name Jesus.  Please help us to do Your holy will Lord!
