PRAYING FOR OUR WORLD
Prayer is our connection and our conversation with God. It is at the heart of our personal relationship with Him. In prayer we speak to God and in prayer we listen to God’s voice speaking to our heart.
In prayer we silence the world so that we can enter into the holy presence of God without any distractions:
“Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.” Psalm 46:10
Prayer is the key that opens the heart of God. In prayer we tell God we believe in Him, we trust in Him, we adore Him and we love Him, we need Him and we hope in Him!
Jesus teaches us how to pray: “But when you are praying, first forgive anyone you are holding a grudge against, so that your Father in heaven will forgive your sins, too.” Mark 11:25
“Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.” Luke 6:36
Jesus encourages us to believe in the power of His Holy Spirit living in us to help us to pray and to listen to His voice:
“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God.” Romans 8: 26-27
Jesus gives us His Prayer, The Lord’s Prayer “Our Father” where we turn to God as His children to praise His Holy Name and to ask for His forgiveness and for His grace to help us to forgive, to do His Holy Will and to trust in God’s love to strengthen us daily so we can resist temptation and please Him always. Let’s not just say the prayer “Our Father”, let’s live this prayer by allowing Jesus to live in us and work through us as we strive to do His will and build His Kingdom on earth.
So many people in our world are suffering. So many families and so many children in so many nations need our prayers. Let us pray for the power of God to silence the power of evil in our world, drawing people to turn away from sin and to turn with faith and hope to the infinite love of God. Let us continue to pray for an end to the global pandemic.
The future of our world depends on God’s grace. It is human ignorance and arrogance that causes people to look for solutions without God’s participation. But it is faith and humility that causes us to understand that without God we cannot accomplish the great works that God wills for us to accomplish.
God’s love is so much greater that we can imagine! His mercy is so much more infinite than we can imagine! If only we could understand how much God longs to help us, His people. All we need to do is BELIEVE!
Remember the Words of Our Lord Jesus, “…Truly I tell you, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” Matthew 17:20
Faith is key when we pray. “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” Hebrews 11:6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.” — Proverbs 3:5-6
“Jesus said to him, …All things are possible for one who believes.'” — Mark 9:23
We cannot rely on our own understanding of what’s needed to transform our world, we must have faith in God and pray for God’s grace to guide us and inspire us to work on the innovations and new solutions that will bring peace and prosperity. AND IF WE DO THIS AND TRULY BELIEVE THAT GOD WILL ANSWER US IMAGINE WHAT WE COULD ACCOMPLISH!
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.” Matthew 7:7
If we pray with humble and honourable intentions and if we repent of our sins and turn to God with faith and trust, God will assist us in doing that which we cannot even imagine!
I invite you to pray not just for yourself and for your own friends and family, but for the whole world. Pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit to bring wisdom, peace and reconciliation, to end violence and war and to bring healing, hope and prosperity for all.
Please join Christians all over the world that are uniting in prayer daily at the time Our Holy Lord Jesus died for us, 3pm (in our local time zones) to remember the Passion of Christ and to pray for His mercy upon all souls.
We call this global prayer movement “The Mercy Movement”. It’s a revolutionary movement because no soul touched by the Passion of Christ remains the same! The love of Jesus revolutionizes the world and transforms our hearts into hearts that are loving and merciful. Prayer is the key to opening the heart of God and the Passion of Christ is the key to opening our hearts to understanding how very, very much God loves us!
When you contemplate the Passion of Christ you will be praying in “listening mode”. Years ago I was professionally trained in communications and I learned that the best communicators were the best listeners. So if you want to communicate well with God, then listen well to God and see Our Saviour Jesus Christ suffering and dying on the Cross for you telling you how much He loves you! When you do truly see Jesus suffering for you to create a place for you in Heaven your relationship will get very personal and very intimate!
The Mercy Movement is all about helping people to be changed by the love of Our Saviour Jesus Christ. It’s about helping people to be saved. It’s about global transformation, peace and prosperity. So many people have yet to come to know and love Jesus and to understand that He wants us to stop fighting and start forgiving. He wants people to drop their weapons and find ways to coexist peacefully. He wants us to believe in His power to make all things new!
Please don’t just read this message, commit to it!
Disciples of Jesus, let’s unite at the foot of the Cross of Jesus, every day at the time Jesus died for us, 3pm* (in our local time zones). *And if 3pm locally is not convenient, pick another time zone that works for you.
As we contemplate the Passion of Christ let us look at Jesus Crucified and let us listen to Him tell us how much He loves us and then let’s tell Jesus how much we love Him as we pray for His mercy upon all souls, especially for those most in need of His mercy and forgiveness.
“We love because He first loved us.” 1 John 4:19
Jesus I want my life to be a continuous prayer to You. I offer You my every word, every thought, every deed, every smile, every tear, everything I give to You, for Your glory. Please forgive me for the times I have failed you. Please help me Lord to see You everywhere, in all people and in all Your earthly creations.
Please allow me Holy Lord to live in constant communion with You. Let me be one with You. I want to serve You and honour You and be Yours in each and every moment. Every beat of my heart is Yours. Jesus You are my heart’s desire! I love You so much Jesus!
