Jesus is God: Lean on Him
“For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form” Colossians 2:9
There is only One God and God exists in a ‘Triune nature’ as Father, Son and Holy Spirit. God is Father; God is Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ and God is the Holy Spirit. The Holy Trinity is Father, Son and Holy Spirit, intimately united as ONE God.
Jesus, the Son of God, One with the Father and the Holy Spirit came into the world to save us; in fact the very name ‘Jesus’ means ‘God saves’.
In the Bible, Jesus is referred to as the eternal Word of God.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning.” John 1: 1-2
“The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John1 1:14
“No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is Himself God and is at the Father’s side, has made Him known.” John 1:18
“The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).” Matthew 1:23
Jesus, Our Lord, Our Saviour and Our God is still with us if we allow Him to enter our hearts through the power of the Holy Spirit and the Holy Sacraments.
With so much stress, confusion and sin in our world, Jesus is the light and hope that redeems us, purifies us, shelters us and provides comfort, guidance and reassurance that ‘nothing is impossible with God’. Luke 1:37
Take a moment to reflect on ONE VERY IMPORTANT TRUTH:
JESUS LOVES YOU SO MUCH THAT HE CHOSE TO DIE FOR YOU!
“But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son.” John 3:16-18
God descended from Heaven to become man in the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus, True God, True Man died on the Cross for each and every human being that will love Him in return.
THE QUESTION IS WILL YOU BELIEVE IN JESUS, OUR LORD AND SAVIOUR?
WILL YOU TRUST JESUS, OUR GOD?
I was listening to a Christian man yesterday talking about his life before finding Jesus. He visualized his life as ‘being in the shallow part of the swimming pool feeling very comfortable.’ He said he thought becoming Christian meant being thrown into the deep end of the pool where he would feel very uncomfortable. In fact he thought maybe there would be sharks in the deep end of the pool and he wondered why would he want to take risks by becoming a Christian. This man acknowledged he was afraid of what God might ask of him by putting him out into deep, uncomfortable waters.
I thought the man’s analogy of life being a ‘swimming pool’ was interesting because sometimes people do not come to God because they feel they don’t need God to succeed. They feel they are happy and comfortable and do not need anything more, except that they ‘don’t know what they don’t know’ and what they ‘don’t know’ is that they cannot accomplish the plans God has for them without Him.
WITH JESUS WE FULFILL OUR HUMAN POTENTIAL BUT WITHOUT JESUS WE WILL FAIL TO BECOME ALL THAT GOD WANTS US TO BE
“The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8
So many people are drowning in the ‘shallow part of the pool called life’ where the only thing that really matters is ‘comfort and pleasure’. A ‘shallow life’ is a life without ‘divine purpose’. It is a life devoid of true meaning.
LIVE YOUR LIFE DEEPLY WITH JESUS AT YOUR SIDE
Jesus helped His first apostles to fish instructing them to “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.” Luke 5:4
God’s will is that we reflect deeply on what is our purpose on earth and not just on how to be comfortable and happy.
Jesus did not just die to create a place for us in Paradise. Jesus died for our sins so He could destroy the power of sin in our lives today.
So many people are forgoing the great peace that Jesus offers because they turn away from God and rely on their own ability to succeed.
Jesus is all powerful! He is our omnipotent God. Jesus is always present and He knows absolutely everything about us. He knows what we need before we ask Him for a single thing.
Take a moment to consider how much Jesus loves you and how much Jesus desires to be with you. Invite Jesus to come near and ask for His grace to open your heart and your mind and your life to His infinite love and truth and then you will begin on the path where you will discover your life’s purpose. Rest in the power of God’s infinite compassion for you. Be Baptized in Christ. Receive forgiveness in the Name of Jesus.
Jesus knows how to help you to achieve your great potential.
Jesus says, “Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5
When I invited Jesus into my life over sixteen years ago, my life changed, my priorities changed and my disposition changed. I went from being a worried, anxious woman to becoming a very calm, peaceful woman. What precipitated this change was my decision to trust in the infinite love Jesus had for me. I surrendered my life to Jesus and for the first time I stopped trying to control all the things I had no power to control and as I began to exhale all the anxiety and fear I was keeping inside me, I began to inhale God’s peace and love. Jesus filled me with calm reassurance that I could lean on Him, my Lord and my God.
There is not a single day that goes by that I don’t stop to remember the Passion of Christ. I stop at the time Jesus died for us, 3pm, to take a walk to Calvary and in this walk I repent of my sins and I thank Jesus for His infinite love as I pray for the salvation of all. I pray for Jesus to send His Holy Spirit upon our world to silence the power of the evil one and to bring souls safely into the heart of God so we can become who we are truly meant to be, children of God, peacemakers, disciples of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Join followers of Jesus, all over the world, that are uniting in prayer and contemplation of the Passion of Christ, daily, at the time Jesus died for us (3pm) to pray for the saving grace of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
