Good Friday: Surrendering to the Will of God

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. For God sent the Son into the world, not to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him.” John 3:16-17

I have been meditating on the Passion of Christ for many years now. I meditate on His Passion everyday at 3pm, the time Jesus died for us on the Cross. Doing this has changed my life! The Passion of Jesus Christ has changed my mind; it has changed my heart and it has changed my soul. His Passion has changed my priorities, what I choose to do and what I choose not to do.  I believe so strongly in the power of Our Lord’s Passion to change the world that at Christmas 2013 I sent a detailed proposal to Pope Francis urging that the entire universal Church declare that 3 o’clock is not ordinary time; it is the Hour of Mercy, the time Our Holy Lord died for us! I pleaded for the Pope to unite all Christians in prayer daily at the time Our Saviour Jesus died for us, 3pm, and I will never stop praying that Christians all around the world unite at the foot of the Cross of Jesus in a solemn, daily, holy remembrance of Our Lord and Saviour who gave His life for our salvation.

Jesus spoke these words to St. Faustina. These words are for the entire world:

“At three o’clock, implore My mercy, especially for sinners; and, if only for a brief moment, immerse yourself in My Passion, particularly in My abandonment at the moment of agony. This is the hour of great mercy for the whole world. I will allow you to enter into My mortal sorrow. In this hour, I will refuse nothing to the soul that makes a request of me in virtue of My Passion…immerse yourself in prayer there where you happen to be, if only for a very brief instant.” (Words of Jesus, Diary of St. Faustina 1320, 1572)

St. Francis of Assisi wore the wounds of Our Saviour upon his flesh in the form of the stigmata. He used to weep over the suffering Jesus endured for us for our redemption. People used to ask St. Francis, “why are you crying?” St. Francis would reply, “I am weeping over the pains and insults of my Divine Master. But what grieves me most is that men for whom He suffered so much never think of the torments He endured.”

Take the journey to Calvary that culminates at the foot of the Cross of your Saviour Jesus Christ. On this difficult journey you will see the Holy One who loves you the most. He wants you to love Him back. He was willing to sacrifice everything for you. He was tortured for you. He was faithful unto death. You are in His heart and should He lose You His heart will break. You are a part of Him and He will complete you. He will open your heart and He will open your mind as He teaches you about love. He will fulfill You.

See your Saviour lying down on the Cross being crucified for you and if something tempts you in life…FLASHBACK!!!…see Him again hanging on this instrument of torture and fall in love with the Holy One, with the only One that can teach you about love. For He is love! Jesus is God!  God is love!  True love flows out of Him and He lives in all that love.

Temptation dissolved in my life when I commenced doing this. I now take this walk to Calvary everyday at 3 pm, the time Jesus died for us. Every day is Good Friday for me and at the solemn time that Jesus died for us, 3pm, I cry with Jesus. I relive His Passion as I see Him suffering for each and every soul. At the foot of the Cross I realized who I wanted to be…I want to be His Bride! I want to be His disciple! I want to be an His instrument of His peace! I want to be all that Jesus wants me to be and I want Jesus to stop suffering and to rejoice in me.

Stand at the foot of the Cross every day in memory of the Holy One who loves you in ways that you cannot imagine. “Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” John 15:13

Jesus only You can fulfill the desires of my heart. You are my heart’s desire! Thank You Holy One for saving me!
