Jesus said to the people who believed in him, “You are truly my disciples if you remain faithful to my teachings.  And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”  John 8:31-32

What is truth?

It was St. Peter who was blessed to know the TRUE IDENTITY of Jesus.

Then he asked them, “But who do you say I am?” Peter replied, “You are the Messiah.”  Mark 8:29

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”  John 14:6

TRUTH – Jesus is Our Saviour and The Gateway to Heaven

“And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”  Acts 4:12

“Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth”. Philippians 2:9-10

“For it is my Father’s will that all who see his Son and believe in him should have eternal life. I will raise them up at the last day.”  John 6:40

TRUTH – HEAVEN IS A CHOICE 

We are all immortal beings and while our bodies will die our souls are eternal. God gives us the gift of free will. Love is a choice that proves we are children of God, for God is love.  Hate, violence, killing, discrimination are choices that are born of evil and offend God.

“Anyone who believes in God’s Son has eternal life. Anyone who doesn’t obey the Son will never experience eternal life but remains under God’s angry judgment.” John 3:36

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” John 13:34

TRUTH – OUR CHOICES IN THIS LIFE WILL DETERMINE OUR JOY AND PEACE IN THE AFTER LIFE

St. Peter warned people:  “But because you are stubborn and refuse to turn from your sin, you are storing up terrible punishment for yourself. For a day of anger is coming, when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed.  He will judge everyone according to what they have done.  He will give eternal life to those who keep on doing good, seeking after the glory and honor and immortality that God offers.  But he will pour out his anger and wrath on those who live for themselves, who refuse to obey the truth and instead live lives of wickedness.  There will be trouble and calamity for everyone who keeps on doing what is evil—for the Jew first and also for the Gentile.  But there will be glory and honor and peace from God for all who do good—for the Jew first and also for the Gentile.” Romans 2: 5-10

TRUTH – THE JOY OF HEAVEN IS UNIMAGINABLE

However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” — the things God has prepared for those who love him.”  1 Corinthians 2:9

TRUTH – GOD IS READY TO FORGIVE AND CLEANSE US OF OUR SINS

“For I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Sovereign LORD. Repent and live!” Ezekiel 18:32

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

TRUTH – GOD CALLS US TO FORGIVE ONE ANOTHER

“Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.” Luke 6:37

“Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.” Matthew 5:7

TRUTH – JESUS DIED TO GIVE YOU THE GIFT OF ETERNAL LIFE

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16

TRUTH – JESUS WANTS AN INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU

Jesus says ” “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5

TRUTH – AT THE END OF OUR LIFE THE ONLY THING THAT WILL MATTER IS RECONCILIATION WITH GOD

“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.”  Revelation 21:4

“For we know that if the tent that is our earthly home is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.” 2 Corinthians 5:1

“My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?”  John 14:2

TRUTH – YOUR PRAYERS ARE PRECIOUS TO GOD AND ARE POWERFUL

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.”  Philippians 4:6

“Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” Mark 11:24

Eternal Father,

I believe that You love us so much more than we can imagine!  You gave us Your only begotten Son Jesus to save us and give us the gift of eternal life.  Holy One, send us Your Holy Spirit to renew us, to restore us and to inspire us to do all that You desire.  May our repentance please You and may our continued efforts to give You glory bear fruit!

Almighty God every day @ the Hour of Mercy, 3pm, I remember Jesus climbing the Hill of Calvary to His place of crucifixion. For our sins, He died an agonizing death.  To set us free, He gave everything!  Help us Father to remember the great sacrifice of Our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, every day @ the Hour of Mercy, 3pm, the Time He died for us.  May our daily remembrance of the greatest love the world has ever known and will ever know, the love of Jesus, silence the power of temptation in our life, giving birth to fidelity, zeal and perseverance! Change our world so broken by sin, deceived by greed, power and empty promises.  For You, Merciful God, all things are possible!  Holy God, please forgive us, bless us, restore us and guide us to be a light in the world that helps people to see into the eternal horizon, to believe in Your endless love, in Your infinite power and in Your steadfast willingness to silence the power of evil and bring forth a new beginning.  We need You Father!  We need You Jesus!  Send us Your Holy Spirit and renew the face of the earth! In Your Holy Name Jesus we pray!  Amen!
