Happy Father’s Day God, The Father!
On this Father’s Day weekend let us reflect on the love of God, the love of our Eternal Father…
* We all have One Father in Heaven – God! Let us honour Him!
“And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven.” Matthew 23:9
*His love is beyond our understanding and our imagination for it is so great!
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” James 1:17
“For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
“Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.” 1 John 4:8
* God the Father and God the Son are One God!
Jesus said, “Whoever has seen me has seen the Father.” John 14:9
“The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word.” Hebrews 1:3
“Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works.” John 14:10
* He works hard and endures persecution for our sake
Jesus said to them, “My Father is always at his work to this very day, and I too am working.” John 5:17
“I have shown you many good works from the Father. For which of these do you stone me?” John 10:32
* His love establishes for us the path of righteousness.
“Those who obey his commandments live in him, and he in them.” 1 John 3:24
Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6
* God does not just speak of love; He shows us love through His Son Jesus Christ.
“A new commandment I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” John 13:34
“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13
* He forgives us and helps us to reconcile with one another. He is a peace maker.
“‘Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the LORD.” Leviticus 19:18
* He is a humble, wise teacher who strengthens and consoles His children.
“Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11:29
* He disciplines His children because He loves them.
“My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline and do not resent his rebuke, because the Lord disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.” Prov 3:11-12
“A fool spurns his father’s discipline, but whoever heeds correction shows prudence.” Prov 15:5
* He reminds us not to be deceived by the temporal things of life but to focus on that which gives life eternal…God!
“Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For everything in the world–the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does–comes not from the Father but from the world. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.” 1 John 2:15-17
* He is so generous and His love never ends!
“However, as it is written: “What no eye has seen, what no ear has heard, and what no human mind has conceived” — the things God has prepared for those who love him” 1 Corinthians 2:9
“Give thanks to the God of heaven. His love endures forever.” Psalm 136:26
