A Secret Key

Before I tell you about the secret key God gave me, let me tell you a story about a man and a woman in love.  They lived in the 1800’s and in those days he had a pocket watch but he had no chain for the watch.   She had beautiful long hair and he wanted to buy her combs that she could wear to adorn her hair.  She wanted to buy him a chain for his pocket watch, except she had no money, so she came up with a plan.  She would cut off her hair and sell her hair and use the money to buy a chain for his watch.  Meanwhile he sold his pocket watch so he could buy her beautiful combs for her hair.

She put on a veil so he could not see that she had cut her hair and she wrapped the chain up in a box waiting anxiously to give the gift to the man she loved.  He wrapped up the hair accessories and looked forward to seeing them adorn her beautiful long hair.  The next day they both arrived bearing gifts.  She opened the box and gazed with love at the beautiful hair accessories. He removed her veil to see that she now had short hair.  She smiled as she explained that she sold her hair to buy him the chain for his pocket watch.  He smiled as he told her he sold his watch to buy her the hair combs.  One might say that now they each had a useless gift, or one might say that they discovered that they had something greater than money could buy…They each had a partner that was willing to sacrifice to give the one they love a gift…

This is the gift Jesus gave me…

Jesus gave me a key that would take me on a spiritual journey with him and this journey would open my heart and open my mind to understand how much He loved me.  This key would also reveal how willing He was to sacrifice for me.  Jesus brought me to the place where He was crucified.  The journey began in the garden of Gethsemane after the Last Supper and culminated in Calvary where Jesus died for me.  There I saw the divinity of Jesus veiled in the most tender, compassionate humanity.

The truth is Jesus our Lord, was fully God and fully Man and He was condemned for my sins and your sins…and He was so willing to sacrifice for me and for you!…The pain He would endure to open the gates of Paradise to us was unthinkable, unimaginable, impossible to endure and yet He embraced it and He endured it.

The key to my heart and the key to my mind is the Passion of Christ.  His Passion changes everything.  His sacrifice changes everything.  His love makes me want to be perfect.  There is nothing on earth that money can buy that I want.  His love is all I need…it’s all I want.  Jesus sacrificed His life so that I could have a key to Paradise and now there is not a single day that goes by that I don’t think about this great gift.  I do this everyday at 3pm, the time Jesus died on the Cross.  At that time we commemorate His love with a walk to Calvary starting with His agony in the garden.

It’s not easy to contemplate the Passion of Christ…This key comes with pain…but nothing truly worthwhile is simple to achieve and opening my heart to the great love of Jesus took time. God was patient with me and God will be patient with you.  I urge you to gaze upon the humanity of Jesus crucified, as you gaze upon the divinity of our Lord sacrificing everything for you and for me. This is a very personal moment.  It’s very intimate.  If you consent to contemplating the Passion of Christ, Jesus will allow you to witness His great suffering and then you will see the price of your sins on the Cross.  When I saw the price of my sins on the Cross, I told Jesus I want to give Him everything I have, however little that may be.

I want to give you everything Lord!  I want to please You!  I want to honour You!  I want to love You and all those that You give me!  Just as You forgave me I am ready to forgive all who have hurt me.  I am ready to deny myself and to suffer for You. Fulfill the plan You have for me gentle Jesus!

Receive your gift from the Holy One, Jesus Christ, who sacrificed everything to give you a key to eternal peace in His Kingdom of Heavenly Light.
