Understanding God

The Bible is key to understanding the true character of God.

“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them.” 1 John 4:16

God wants a relationship with His people and that relationship is a “love relationship”. It is defined by our trust in God’s everlasting love, in His wisdom and in His desire to help us to prosper.

“…I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

God does not want a casual relationship with us. God wants an intimate relationship with us.

Jesus, our God, teaches us that the intimacy that He desires is like the relationship between a vine and its branches.

Jesus says, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5

God is love. God will provide all that we need to succeed, but God will not oblige us to remain in His love. If we sin, we become like the branch that is cut off from the life saving force of the vine, we will wither and die.

God is merciful! If we are unfaithful to His commandment to love He will draw us close to Him like the patient father who welcomes back His prodigal child, if the prodigal child REPENTS!

The key to restoring our relationship with God is REPENTANCE!

God’s mercy is like a fount of grace that is boundless and never ending, but that fount of love cannot be accessed without true sorrow for our sins.

“If we confess our sins, he (Jesus) is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9

Jesus proved that God IS LOVE and GOD IS MERCY on the Cross.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.” John 3:16-17

What happens to people who don’t repent?

Jesus died on the Cross to pay the price of DIVINE JUSTICE. The merits of His sacrifice are so infinite that every soul that repents has access to His mercy, but what happens to those that do not repent?

God is love! God is mercy! God is justice!

The Bible teaches us that “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” Proverbs 9:10

“Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell.” Matthew 10:28

God will avenge the injustice in the world for God is JUSTICE. Those that do not repent are poised to receive God’s justice.

Remember the promise of God: “For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” and again, “The Lord will judge his people.” Hebrews 10:30

All of us will be subject to judgment. None of us are without sin. “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.” 1 John 1:8

All of us have some confessing to do to access the mercy God so desires to give His people.

If you study the Bible you will understand that on more than one occasion God has punished His unrepentant people with chastisements because He loves His people.

“And have you completely forgotten this word of encouragement that addresses you as a father addresses his son? It says, “My son, do not make light of the Lord’s discipline, and do not lose heart when he rebukes you, because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.” Hebrews 12:5-6

A good parent is always trying to help their children discern what is honourable so they can take a path of honour. God is OUR HOLY ETERNAL FATHER and He is always working to bring us, His children, into His saving grace either through divine mercy or through divine justice!

The wise soul will repent and receive God’s mercy while there is still time to receive it.

The wise soul will understand that the key to being faithful to God’s love is PASSION FOR GOD!

Have you ever noticed how people in love, only have eyes for one another? Their eyes are not wandering around searching casual distractions; their eyes are riveted on the one they love.

Come then to meet your God, Jesus Christ, at the place of His crucifixion.

See your Holy Lord and Saviour nailed to the Cross to prove His love for you. Understand why He chose to die for His people. Jesus chose to die for us, so that we can all be absolved from our sins. He died to forgive us and to purify us so that we could become His disciples.

A SPECIAL MESSAGE FOR DISCIPLES OF CHRIST

Baptized Christians, we belong to Jesus! Let us repent of our sins and live in accordance to God’s holy word. Let us proclaim His love through every word and every deed. Let us be His instruments of peace and let us never forget how much Jesus suffered to save us. We have a responsibility to pray for one another for prayer will open the heart of God and bring forth His Holy Spirit upon all souls, especially those most in need of His mercy.

JOIN THE MERCY MOVEMENT

Join us every day, wherever you are at 3pm, in your local time zone, because 3pm is the time Jesus died for us on the Cross. At this time pray, pray for all souls, especially for those most in need of His mercy. Pray for souls who are committing great acts of evil. Pray that God’s mercy opens the hearts of the unrepentant to “turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it.” 1 Peter 3:11

REMEMBER GOD IS LOVE; GOD IS MERCY AND GOD IS JUSTICE!

WOE TO THOSE THAT DO NOT REPENT AND CONTINUE TO COMMIT ACTS OF VIOLENCE!

“Why do you boast of evil, you mighty hero?

Why do you boast all day long,

you who are a disgrace in the eyes of God?

You who practice deceit,

your tongue plots destruction;

it is like a sharpened razor.

You love evil rather than good,

falsehood rather than speaking the truth.

You love every harmful word,

you deceitful tongue!

Surely God will bring you down to everlasting ruin:

He will snatch you up and pluck you from your tent;

he will uproot you from the land of the living.

The righteous will see and fear;

they will laugh at you, saying,

“Here now is the man

who did not make God his stronghold

but trusted in his great wealth

and grew strong by destroying others!”

But I am like an olive tree

flourishing in the house of God;

I trust in God’s unfailing love

for ever and ever.

For what you have done I will always praise you

in the presence of your faithful people.

And I will hope in your name,

for your name is good.” Psalm 52:1-9

Let us love Jesus and remember His words: “…unless you repent, you too will all perish.” Luke 13:5
