My Valentine’s Card to Jesus
Holy Lord on this day when the world celebrates love, my heart is with You! I want to thank You for loving us all so much that You would die for us. I realize that saying we love You isn’t as important as showing You we love You. I understand now that “love is a choice”, a choice that becomes truly beautiful when it is born in difficult circumstances and gives you glory.
I know it wasn’t easy for you to drink the cup that the Father destined for You. So often I find myself thinking in my own life “let this suffering pass” but then I remember Your prayer, “not my will, but thy will be done” (Luke 22:42) and I find courage, joy and strength in trying to imitate You.
I understand now that I cannot do anything without You and I delight in knowing that You are always with me. The Words of the Scripture are no longer just words that I am trying to understand, they are the truth that guides my life and inspires my choices.
As I stand at the foot of Your Cross, Jesus, each and every day at 3pm, the time You died for us, I discover what “wonder” and “awe” and “reverence” truly mean. It is in Your disfigurement, the disfigurement that You endured suffering for our salvation, that I see Your infinite beauty and endless love. How privileged we are to be Your people! How sad I am that all souls do not love You!
For those of us that do believe, I know that we have been given a gift of infinite value—faith. I know this gift of faith comes with great responsibility and special privilege. Help us Almighty God to understand how to please You! Help us to forgive one another! Help us to pray and help us to contemplate Your Passion with great reverence so that we can be transformed by Your amazing love.
There is no greater love than Your love Jesus! You are my heart’s desire! I know that in Your Sacred Heart there are many rooms, a unique and special place for each soul, a place created distinctly for each one of us that will satisfy the desires of our hearts. I know that many of these rooms are still empty because souls are preoccupied with the wrong things. Have mercy on us Lord! We need you so much!
For most of my life I have been searching in all the wrong places, focused on many wrong things…I’m at peace now, for my search is over. I have found what I was looking for! I have found YOU, my Saviour Jesus Christ, my God!…or maybe it’s more truthful to say “You found me!” Thank You for searching for Your lost sheep. Allow me to help You unite our family.
Happy Valentines Day Holy One! “I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine.” Song of Solomon 6:3
