A Letter to Christian Leaders and Christians everywhere
This is a letter to everyone who loves Jesus. All over the world, there are Christians uniting in prayer at 3pm, in their local time, because it’s the time Jesus died for our salvation, it’s the Hour of Mercy!
Can you imagine what the world might be like if Christians all over the world could unite in prayer once a day, at the time Jesus died for us, in one Body of Christ, calling upon the infinite mercy of Our Lord Jesus?
I am advocating for this cause because I have seen what it has done in my own life. Let me tell you a bit about my own experience. It’s about nine years now that I have been stopping at 3 o’clock to meditate on the Passion of Christ and pray. When I started doing this I was working in a global business environment and I used to take a short break from work of about 15 minutes to do this each day at 3pm.
This experience has changed my life and I am convinced that Christians united in prayer globally standing together at the foot of the Cross of Jesus each and every day remembering how much He suffered for our salvation will change the world!
It is impossible to truly see Jesus being nailed to the Cross and not feel a shock in the deepest recesses of our heart’s. It’s impossible to not be changed by the Passion of Christ. “We love because he first loved us.” 1 John 4:19 But sometimes it’s possible for Christians to not think about the Passion of Christ until Easter…Friends of Jesus that’s not enough!
I have proposed that the Catholic Church implement a global campaign to promote the Hour of Mercy. I am hoping that Pope Francis will embrace this recommendation because it’s not my request that the world unite in prayer at 3 o’clock, it was the request of Jesus! You may not know this, but Jesus revealed this request in 1937 to a polish nun by the name of Faustina Kowalska. “Jesus said, “At three o’clock, implore My mercy, especially for sinners; and, if only for a brief moment, immerse yourself in My Passion, particularly in My abandonment at the moment of agony. This is the hour of great mercy for the whole world. I will allow you to enter into My mortal sorrow. In this hour, I will refuse nothing to the soul that makes a request of Me in virtue of My Passion…immerse yourself in prayer there where you happen to be, if only for a very brief instant.” Diary of St. Faustina 1320, 157
Would you like to join this global effort to unite in prayer, contemplating the Passion of Christ, at the time Jesus died for us 3pm? Imagine Christians united at 3pm in their local time loving and adoring Jesus as we stand at the foot of His Cross thanking Him for His infinite sacrifice. “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” John 15:13
This very day there will be so much violence and so much suffering. Let us call upon the mercy of Our Lord to silence the forces of evil, to bring peace to our world and to our heart’s. God does not work alone! He asks us to open our hearts to Him, to trust in Him and to love our enemies. “But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you” Matthew 5:44
We can change the world, if we open our hearts to Our Lord who will save us. Let us repent of our sins and call upon His infinite mercy. God is ready to answer our prayers, but we must unite and call to Him.
Perhaps you are a leader of a Christian church, maybe you are a pastor that leads thousands of people to God, maybe you only represent yourself. Come to the foot of the Cross of Jesus and see your Saviour dying for you each day at 3pm. It’s the Hour of Mercy. If you believe in God you must believe in prayer. God will answer our prayers for peace, for conversion and in this way we will love our neighbors, helping Jesus to save souls and change the world, one soul at a time!
Know that I will be praying for you every day at 3pm, contemplating the agony of Our Lord Jesus who gave everything so that we could one day be together in Paradise. Please be there with me!
