How to Fight Terror in Our World: Let’s get clear on what God wants!

In order to please God, we must first understand God. The understanding of God’s Holy Character and His Holy Will is critical and foundational because it enables us to discern right from wrong, good from bad, holy from unholy.

We live in a world where God is understood and misunderstood. Understanding God is key to giving Him glory, but misunderstanding God generally leads to blasphemy. Blasphemy is the act of insulting and offending God; it is a failure to show reverence to God. It is disrespect for His Holy Will and His Holy Way.

What do we know about God?

GOD IS LOVE

“We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them.” 1 John 4:16

“Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.” John 4:8

CHILDREN OF GOD LOVE – CHILDREN OF THE DEVIL KILL

“This is how we know who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.” 1 John 3:10

“For this is the message you heard from the beginning: We should love one another. Do not be like Cain, who belonged to the evil one and murdered his brother. And why did he murder him? Because his own actions were evil and his brother’s were righteous. Do not be surprised, my brothers and sisters, if the world hates you. We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love each other. Anyone who does not love remains in death. Anyone who hates a brother or sister is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life residing in him.” 1 John 3:11-15

JESUS IS THE EXAMPLE OF ‘WHAT IS LOVE’ – HE GAVE HIS LIFE FOR US!

“This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters. If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?” 1 John 16-17

LOVE CALLS FOR ACTION: LOVE IS A CHOICE TO HONOUR GOD!

“Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.” 1 John 18

Everyday I take the holy action to pray for an end to violence and for God’s Holy Will to be understood. I grieve deeply for people who have been deceived into believing that God is calling them to fight a ‘holy war’ and kill others.

Not long ago I went to see a movie called ‘Eye in the Sky’. It is a movie that shows how difficult it is for politicians to stop suicide bombings even when they have advanced knowledge that they are going to occur.

There is one scene in the movie that made my heart stop and as I write this I cry for God. I pray that my tears will open your heart and free you from anger and fill you with compassion as you try to imagine this.

Imagine a man all dressed in white put on a suicide vest.   He stands with conviction and resolve as another man standing in front of him loads the vest with individual bombs, one at a time, in a methodical process that prepares him to kill. This man believes his sacrifice will please God, BUT HE HAS BEEN DECEIVED!

Reflect on the Words of Jesus!

“The time is coming when anyone who kills you will think they are offering a service to God.” John 16:2

We live in a world where radical terrorists have been HORRIBLY DECEIVED INTO BELIEVING GOD IS CALLING THEM TO KILL IN A DIVINELY ORDAINED MISSION.

Jesus explains further:

“They will do such things because they have not known the Father or me.” John 16:3

We know from this passage that the people killing are not Christians because they do not know Jesus, God’s Son or God The Father.

WHAT DOES JESUS WANT US TO DO?

“ Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” Matthew 5:44

WHY IS PRAYER SO IMPORTANT?

Because we are fighting Satan! Our battle is against the demonic force that has DECEIVED AND CONVINCED PEOPLE TO KILL IN THE NAME OF GOD.

Remember the Words of St. Paul:

“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” Ephesians 6:12

Satan is behind God being MISUNDERSTOOD!

The Holy Spirit enables God to be UNDERSTOOD!

So you see that we must pray for the Holy Spirit to help those who are today persecuting, terrorizing, killing innocent people.

Just as we know the Holy Character of God is to LOVE, we know the evil character of Satan is to hate and to murder. God is TRUTH but Satan feeds people LIES!

Children of the Devil: This is what Jesus has to say to you

“You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.” John 8:44

Children of God: Love requires Action!

If we are to stand with confidence as children of God and disciples of Jesus Christ we must spread the GOSPEL TRUTH. We must sincerely repent of our sins and with absolute confidence in the love of God, surrender our hearts with absolute TRUST to the love and omnipotent power of Our Saviour Jesus Christ.

We must pray for those who are committing the worst forms of evil in the world. We must pray that the Holy Spirit silences the demonic force that is compelling them to believe the lie that God wills for them to kill in His Name.

THERE IS POWER IN OUR CHRISTIAN UNITY!

Now more than ever, we must stand united believers of Jesus. If we are true disciples of Jesus Christ then we understand that we are to share in Christ’s saving mission by helping all people to embrace the love of God.

“We love because He (Jesus) first loved us.” 1 John 4:19

Shall we declare we are saved and then fail to reflect on the price of our salvation?

Shall we rejoice in knowing the truth and fail to tell others?

Shall we take the holy sacrifice of Our Lord Jesus for granted?

The answer to all these questions is NO!

St. Paul said this in regard to the Body of Christ: “If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.” 1 Corinthians 12:26

Are you familiar with the genocide of Christians happening in the Middle East? If not do not remain uninformed, read about it here.

There was a report on this Christian genocide presented to US Secretary of State John Kerry in March 2016.  This report signed by many important interest groups presented evidence that documented the:

  • assassinations of Church leaders
  • mass murders and deportations
  • torture
  • kidnapping for ransom
  • sexual enslavement and systematic rape of girls and women
  • forcible conversions to Islam
  • destruction of Christian churches, monasteries, cemeteries, and artifacts

In this report I read about a father “one Christian man from Mosul who committed suicide after ISIS fighters brutally raped his wife and daughter in front of him.”

Can you hold these brothers and sisters in Christ in your heart?  Can you hold all innocent victims of terror in your heart and pray for them, irrespective of their religion?

Are you willing to do what Jesus asked us to do? “Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” Matthew 5:44

Let us with trust and with absolute confidence in the power of God to change the hearts of the most wicked men and women, go to Him boldly in a humble prayer for His Holy Spirit to be poured out to save people deceived into committing the most horrible abominations in His Name!  This is the best way to protect innocent lives – stop the demons behind the violence!

Please join A Peaceful Revolution in the Name of Jesus Christ, a Christian peace movement that prays as ONE Body of Christ DAILY at the time Our Lord Jesus died for us, 3pm, in our local time zones. At this time we remember the great pain Our Lord Jesus endured to save us. At this time we remember the Passion of Christ and we look at Jesus Christ on the Cross suffering for our salvation and we love Him, we adore Him and we trust in Our Lord Jesus and we pray for His Mercy upon every soul on earth!

“They will look on the one they have pierced.” John 19:37

God’s promise is this:

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14
